Today’s post at Stars Over Washington gives details and a view of the horoscope of February 25, 2013′s Full Moon in Virgo, sign of jobs, work, service, and health, with the chart set for the Capitol Building, Washington DC.
And as you know, various services in the US are due for interruption and more job losses are predicted because of ‘sequestration’ cuts which are likely to be implemented beginning March 1st unless Congress lifts itself up and shows more wisdom in financial matters than they’ve demonstrated so far. Such are the Machiavellian tactics of Washington politicians egged on by their wealthy billionaire backers against We the People as they plan austerity for us, more riches bwo tax breaks for them!
On Monday February 25th, congress members skulk back to the Capitol Building after their week-long vacation under the rays of a Virgo Full Moon which perfects on Monday at 3:26 pm est and colors this congressional session.
Implications of the Full Moon’s Sun Pisces-Moon Virgo Water-Earth blend of energies (mud-stuck yet practical, swamped by duties they should have already met) may be interesting to note: ‘analysis and synthesis, nervous and fretful, large-minded but good with details, devoted servants with refined tastes’. This blend denotes a confrontation (Full Moon = culmination, and awareness of relationship dynamics) between intuition and reason with Pisces unable to stand much reality, and Virgo all for making clear-eyed assessments and finding practical solutions (though what Congress is actually ‘devoted’ to seems suspect.)
A caution for this session of Congress which begins with a Virgo Full Moon, is to avoid perfectionism and an overly critical attitude toward others along with a tendency to allow emotions and rationality to clash–for it’s difficult to distinguish between them.
In Sun Sign-Moon Sign, the Harveys give interesting Images for Integration to describe the Sun Pisces-Moon Virgo pair of energies: “Small events bring enormous consequences…Faith and reason shake hands.”
Perhaps the best advice for everyone–very much including our political miscreants and radicals about to bring our financial matters to a halt–comes from famed psychologist Roberto Assagioli who was born under the influences of the Sun Pisces-Moon Virgo blend and observed that:
“Without forgiveness life is governed by…an endless cycle of resentment and retaliation.”
Hmm…wise advice for Washington DC, isn’t it?

1.5 Million Americans Filed for Bankruptcy in 2010
By Jerry White
As tens of millions are finding it impossible to pay their bills, the corporations and banks are raking in record profits, top executives are pocketing huge payouts and the richest 2 percent of the population is celebrating the tax cut handed to them by Obama and the congressional Republicans.
Yes, the swamp of Washington DC, my former abode, has always had a pungent odor but the above linked article indicates a headier brew wafting from our nation’s capital than ever before.
Perhaps we should follow the one-world-government script and ALL file for bankruptcy whether one’s financial condition warrants it or not – as indicated by the Sabian Symbol of the Moon (the people; the public; we-the-people) on the morning of 9/11/01…’28Gemini” = “A Man Declared Bankrupt” = DELIVERANCE.
Positive expression: an effective and overall resourcefulness in even the worst of conditions;
Negative/unconscious/shadow side: a willingness to dodge every responsibility and betray the very core of self. (The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Marc Edmund Jones.)
Seems to this American that the dodging of responsibility and deep betrayal occurred at the top levels of the US government on its way to do Wall Street’s every bidding.
And President Obama’s corporate appointments to his White House staff this week only makes it even clearer as destructuring, transforming Pluto continues his raid through government-business-law-ruling Capricorn, sign of America’s natal Pluto placement.
Well, WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange will be freed on bail today or tomorrow and won’t have to spend Christmas in a Victorain-era prison, and astrologer Julie Demboski takes a look at what’s going on over our noggins today, December 16, 2010, with the Moon leaving Aries behind and happy to be exalted in Taurus. Julie writes on today’s Material Consequences in and from Pacific Time so be sure to catch up with her insightful analysis.
Mercury Rx in early Capricorn continues backing up toward Sagittarius and will be crossing the threshold of ’30Sag’ soon, the “The Pope Blessing the Faithful” degree (and I’m sure he does) as the planet of negotiations, messages, and The Mind leaves Pluto’s Cap neighborhood for a while but soon to reunite.
Today’s Sun Sag-Moon Tau blend is a Fire-Earth ‘scorched earth’ combination of energies which holds entrenched beliefs, has much self-confidence, and exhibits extravagant tastes. It loves pleasant surroundings and familiar faces and is a ‘practical philosopher’ blend that loves to know all the facts and has a tendency to let others pick up the bill…kind of like the richest 2% taking public dole from the new tax cut deal between Mr. Obama and the GOP – which makes the rich richer and the poor poorer.
No kudos for you on this one, Washington, for you’re still up to the same old class warfare tricks so favored by the plutocratic combo of Pluto/Chiron, here in our US oligarchy.
Of course, the transiting Pluto/Chiron midpoint is on the Midheaven Point (Goal) of the Inauguration 2009 horoscope so the Obama-GOP collusion against the disenfranchised is no big surprise here.
Speaking of finances, you may find today’s Images for Integration for Sun Sag-Moon Tau of interest: “A pirate ship searches for gold…An armchair traveller roughs out a financial plan for his next adventure.”
(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles & Suzi Harvey.)
This blend is shared natally by the great John Milton who wrote the following which reminds me of a man sitting in a Victorian-era prison cell:
“A mind not to be changed by place or time.
The mind is its own place, and in itself
Can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.”
Having just updated my July 2010 post concerning the December 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse @ 29Gem21, I thought you might wish to check it out with its ‘crisis degree’ implications for the US economy.
In alphabetical order, this Lunar Eclipse is of special significance to the natal charts of Afghanistan (Saturn), Australia (Mercury and Neptune opposition), Cuba (Neptune), Israel (Jupiter), Japan (Moon), Manhattan (Uranus), NYC (Venus/Mars conjunction @ 29Sag), North Korea (Uranus), Palestine (Uranus), Phoenix AZ (Jupiter), and Vatican City (Saturn).
Curiously, the natal horoscope of the NYSE is not so directly affected by the December 2010 Lunar Eclipse so hopefully the astrologer-and-economist-predicted market crash ‘by the end of the year’ won’t be as negative as feared though the Solar Eclipse of Jan 4, 2011 awaits us after the holidays…and directly opposes US natal Sun at crisis degree (13Can/Cap.)
Even economist Gerald Celente has predicted a market crash by the end of 2010 and he should know. Given the crisis-degreed Lunar and Solar Eclipses and their portents, I shall agree with him – at least that something deflating is afoot as we enter 2011.
But I’ll Be Home for Christmas
The Dec 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse has a Sun Sag-Moon Gem blend which gives our atmosphere a Fire-Air vibe, and as you know, Fire-Air has a ‘live wire’ flavor that’s full of exciting ideas easily communicated with much enthusiasm. Yet its ideals may be impractical unless there is an Earthy quality to call upon for physical manifestation of them. Still, this indicates that a much-needed gregarious, sociable quality may infuse the December holidays and I, for one, am quite ready for that eventuality, aren’t you?
A caution, however, is that Sun Sag-Moon Gem blend of energies is prone to spreading itself too thin while overanalyzing things in order to hide its true feelings. It’s easy to live by one’s wits with this combination, plus, a ‘Peter Pan’ influence may be in the air.
This blend is friendly and open to other cultures, and is a natural teacher, spokesperson, or trendsetter. Its Image for Integration is:
“Robin Hood as a young boy plays truant from school to go to his archery lesson, but ends up teaching his card tricks to his master.”
(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles & Suzi Harvey.)
Sounds a bit like MasterCards may come out of wallets for a few gift purchases! (And gift cards are fine – just send them on along!)
FYI, this particular witty, charming, and intellectual blend of Sag-Gem is shared natally by some very well known folk such as: Anna Freud, Jeff Bridges, Noel Coward, ‘New Ager’ Benjamin Creme, dictator Francisco Franco, chantreuse Edith Piaf, Green Party founder Petra Kelly, Kirk Douglas, Tina Turner, Gary Hart, Abbie Hoffman, and author C. S. Lewis.
My cat was munching some green shoots the other day from a flower pot of catnip but you know they didn’t look anything like the slow economic recovery we’re slogging through like dazed Bambis.
Seems the Fed is ‘caught in a trap’ and the US dollar must fall because chewing off their own hindquarters isn’t in the power elite’s script for achieving greater control of society. They want more, not less, silly!
Well, one of my problems with all this, of course, is that I can’t forget FDR’s informative statement which I shall paraphrase once again: ‘Nothing in politics happens by accident, if it happens you can be sure it was meant to happen’.
So you’ve probably never noticed me calling the Fed, Obama’s economic team of Wall Street gentry, or economists such names as ‘stupid’ or ‘dumb’ or ‘incompetent’ because I think they have the US economy and financial system just where they want it, more or less. ‘Less’ because outside interference seems evident to me so there’s that crazy wild card about to be played for shock value – the coup de grace some people think is coming to the over-extended US. (Read article linked above for better ‘splainin’ of the fundamentals.)
From TARP funds sent overseas to fatten foreign investors’ piggybanks (where it won’t be spent to help any of the world’s Main Streets pay a street sweeper’s wages much less sell some merchandise) and huge corporate bonuses bundled and thieved from taxpayer pennies – to mergers that blight careers and thus lives, plus, those hoarding banks – someone has sopped up all the drippings and left the rest of us with only gristle to chew on.
The American public has recently had the Great Conjunction/s of inflationary Jupiter and Neptune upon our US natal Moon (we-the-people) in Aquarius all through 2009, a year of financial mummery, dreams of popping bubbles, and pumping liquidity into the system if there ever was one.
Plus, counterfeit (Neptune) bills (Jupiter) have become more of a problem than the Fed is likely to admit and a Jupiter/Neptune year is an integral time for that particular cyclic scam. These huge planets conjunct approximately every 13 years, the last time in Jan 1997 @ 27Cap09 during Bill Clinton’s and Alan Greenspan’s watch (conjunct US natal Pluto!)
2009′s Jupiter/Neptune = US n Moon: becoming involved in speculation; confusion over reality vs fiction; an emotional swoon; going with the wind; dreaminess deceives; losing oneself in plans; instability; wastefulness.
1997′s Jupiter/Neptune = US n Pluto: plans unreasonable beyond measure; far-reaching speculations; a great loss.
(Note: the pair may also signify global (Neptune) + bankers (Jupiter), an amorphous international group of shady characters with grand schemes all their own.)
Now you know that Astrology describes energy in an AC-DC fashion so if a midpoint trait manifests or is stimulated, its energy can be on, or coming from, one side the other; any, all, or none may apply.
Now we’re plopped into 2010, a year of financial slight of hand brought to us in part by the Great Conjunction/s of Jupiter and Uranus through the year into 2011. This is a bright duo that can magically impress with what later turns out to be little more than a flash in the pan or an overpromise unless other factors stabilize or give support.
Jupiter and Uranus met at Aries Point on June 8, 2010 and will conjoin twice more in September and on January 4, 2011 in late degrees of nearby murky Pisces, sign of oceans, fish (including thousands of dead ones on the Gulf Coast and elsewhere), drugs, chemicals, deceit, footwear, and the collective unconscious.
Actually, January 4, 2011 is the date of a Solar Eclipse @ 13Cap39 which closely opposes US natal Sun (the leader) so we may expect the President to be turning course on something around that time or during the 6 months following, if need be. This one is in the 13 North Series: ‘energy in groups and associations; large ambitious group projects that require the breaking of an existing bond; separation then joint achievement.’
(Paraphrasing Brady’s Predictive Astrology; midpoint pics from Tyl; Ebertin: Munkasey.)
He may be changing course in some way because this eclipse occurring in opposition to US n Sun echoes an ‘un-birthday’ when the Sun opposes its natal position: say, you were born on January 4, then your un-birthday is July 4…time to review how plans are going toward your goals for the year and make adjustments if necessary.
The presence of an eclipse at the critical degree of 13Cap/Can gives potential events and situations more of a ‘wild card’ vibe, however.
Remember June 8′s conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus @ 00Ari18 (AP)?
It conjoined the IC in America’s Sibly natal chart so there’s a midpoint picture which may be of interest to our topic…IC is about Endings and is sometimes called, The Drain in a horoscope. Opposite is the most visible point in any chart, the Midheaven (MC) which is about Career, Status, Goals and Aspirations, and Recognition on the World Stage….the high point with the IC being the low point.
Jupiter/Uranus = n MC: the role of politics as a means of gaining status or standing.
Oh, politics is a means, all right. A means for lining pockets! (US n Jupiter @ ’6Can’ = “Game Birds Feathering Their Nests.” And that’s from 1776!)
And perhaps the government’s proposed ‘kill switch’ on the internet is related to the technology and science of 2010/11′s Jupiter/Uranus combo and the ‘pull the plug’ image I’m unwillingly envisioning is inspired by The Drain in the US chart being ‘stimulated’ like a corporate welfare bailout that results in wastefulness for the US economy but a windfall for person or persons unknown.
A big bank invention of the early 1990s meant to make property titles easier while getting around local titling fees, MERS may be of help to some troubled homeowners by making it the pittard upon which to hoist a few mortgage institutions!
The MERS dilemma sounds like a mighty big mess to me but if making use of it keeps families in their homes rather than putting them out on the streets, let’s have a huge helping of MERS for America’s sake and for the common good.
Is ‘weak recovery’ not an oxymoron of some sort?
Anyway, here’s an article from USA Today on what the Federal Reserve’s next move might be to bolster our ‘weak recovery’ after Friday’s lackluster jobs report.
However, that’s assuming that a bolster is what they actually intend.
Update 8.10.10: yes, the Fed is meeting as I type and a post is now up concerning the Fed, Jupiter-Neptune, and Plunder if you’re interested. My apologies if the link doesn’t work – the post’s title had to be edited so it may act funkily.
If so, please sashay yourself over to Stars Over Washington and check for an August 10, 2010 post, the latest one published, if you hurry.
Just wanted to be certain you caught the one about Goldman Sachs’ disclosure of the list of financial recipients from when Goldman paid off its overseas bets using US taxpayer monies under the label “bailout.”
As many have said before me, their fancy financial transactions should have resulted in jailouts, not a bailouts.
So Goldman Sachs was paid twice, minimum.
Meanwhile, we got rooked by banking racketeers which in turn made their hugely obscene bonuses possible. What accounts for their huge, ballooning noggins – like astronauts’ swollen heads in space – only the god of hubris can tell.
But why should he spill the beans?
For as shipping and railroad magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt was fond of saying, “What do I care about the law? Hain’t I got the power?”
Today the G20 Summit in Toronto is well underway after this morning’s Lunar Eclipse 4Cap46 conjunct powerful, secretive, wealthy Pluto Rx in controlling, managing, restrictive Capricorn, the sign ruled by Saturn, planet of government, law, and business.
The horoscope for the June 26, 2010 Lunar Eclipse is almost identical when set for Toronto as when set for Washington, DC with both locations using EDT.
View today’s Lunar Eclipse chart with details @ Stars Over Washington if you dare.
Yet there formed a YOD in Toronto which was not apparent in DC, plus, evaluating Venus turned up in 1st house in Toronto, 2nd house in DC. Money matters are obviously big on the agenda this weekend though we don’t need Astrology to tell us that!
And with the Sun in a mundane chart signifying ‘the leader’, we may expect that President Obama’s attendance at the Summit will be described in part by the one-day transit of Sun to US natal Jupiter 5Can56 (’6Can’ = “Game Birds Feathering Their Nests”; astrological Jupiter on various levels is the planet of big money, ideals, philosophy, optimism, travel, knowledge, expansion, and generosity.
Sun to Jupiter indicates an increase in said optimism along with an enhanced spiritual awareness; cultural events are successful and enjoyable, especially if you’re the President of the United States who is in progress of ramming through major financial reform legislation at home and can travel to another country and crow over it at a G20 Summit!
Dramatic hopefulness is the tone of the day with Sun to natal Jupiter, and courage and confidence are increased, but with one caution against becoming too impressed with oneself since Sun also represents ego and Jupiter tends to over-inflate.
Jupiter also has connections to judicial systems with intellectual horizons broadened on such issues as law and the areas mentioned above.
So even when circumstances turn troubling, a Sun to Jupiter transit has a way of providing something positive to counteract problems and lessen their negative effects.
Well, Happy Jupiterian Summit, Mr. President!
And I hope your financial reform bill does the good you say it will do, protects consumers for a change, and doesn’t make things worse with its costs to the financial industry passed on to US consumers.
