June 4, 2011: Decided to upload my entry for World Drawing Day 2011 to my flickr stream.

Title? ‘Fairy Path w Moss Drawing Day 2011′ by jude cowell.

So have you checked out any of the entries yet? A book publishing will result of a selection of today’s uploaded drawings including some childrens’ drawings which is cool. And there’s lots of Art to view in the online gallery linked below.

Well, I do declare that Drawing Day is the largest art project Ever! You can feel it, can’t you?

Drawing Day

It’s Drawing Day on Saturday June 4, 2011

Three Art questions for you: Do you love to draw? Or did you used to love to draw when you were a kid? Have you engaged in drawing or doodling in the last little while?

Then you may wish to check out details about this Saturday’s Drawing Day! The ultimate goal of the project is to gather one million drawings from across the globe with entries posted in an online art gallery. There are several options for how to download your art offering (flickr, Red Bubble, create a YouTube video, and more) with a chance to be published in the Drawing Day book.

So if drawing is your thing, check it out or simply mosey by the Drawing Day website on Saturday and afterwards to see what art has been uploaded!

Plus, on a heavier note, here’s another question: Is the Strauss-Kahn Arrest Linked to Missing US Gold? with notes on today’s Solar Eclipse in Gemini conjoining US natal Uranus 8Gem55 and transiting Midas, that lover and hoarder of gold.

My drawing shown above, A Fairy’s Secret Valley, is the sort of ‘mystical’ pencil illustration (suitable for children) that is often published at Secret Moon Art and I hope you’ll flit by when you can…

Venus rises in a Cosmic Bubbles Art Show

You know, there’s a lot more to astrological Venus than Art, Relationships, Romance, and pretty baubles. The planet figures prominently in the Mayan Calendar end date and in other ancient prophecies as well.

As I type, Venus is @ 5AQ08 (Tropical) which conjoins America’s natal South Node, a separative point, aka the Dragon’s Tail. Venus/SN contacts may not be good for keeping relationships together unless other factors provide strength and both partners are strongly motivated to keep things going – plus, there may be some ‘bad timing’ going on.

Well, I hope it isn’t bad timing today to announce that my drawing ‘Venus Rising’ is part of a new ‘Cosmic Bubbles Art Show’, a slide presentation on display now at the Two Hours blog so relax and have a peek, if you wish!

It is Friday after all.

Oh, and you’ll see the rest of the Jude’s Threshold banner, too…Aquaria is from ‘Answer Glow’!

Drench yourself in Tyrian purple!

Now if you were snuggled inside something knitted or crocheted in Tyrian purple handspun and painted yarn you’d feel as royally scumptious as this skein looks. You know you would!

So click if you wish, for my daughter Maya is the go-to for that…

Update: a fresh

of my Cosmic, Botanical, and Chiffonery Art drawings has been published, if you’d like a peek! Jude

Moon Art for a Monday

Moonlight Path

Moonlight Path

Monday is the Moon’s day and since the Aquarian Solar Eclipse is fresh (occurring here at 2:55 am est), I thought a shout-out to Luna on her day was a good way to begin the week.

Drawing: Prismacolor oil, Rexel Derwent watercolour pencils (dry) on black paper; perpetrated by Jude Cowell, natal Moon in Pisces, Sun in Capricorn.

So now, for all of us who were born with Sun in Capricorn-Moon in Pisces:

Sun Cap-Moon Pisces (Earth-Water): scientist and poet; a pragmatic dreamer; an imaginative organizer; tough and tender; dependable but private; both practical and dreamy.

Self-reflection makes this combo serious and solemn at times but allows deep insight into others’ plights. A natural humanitarian with a penchant for mystery, this blend makes for one who isn’t always sure if she’s the cat’s meow or something the cat dragged in.

Quietly bringing order out of chaos is a talent (which astrologers recognize as a helpful trait!), and there’s a capacity to give form and substance to imagination.

Weaknesses include: fear of the unknown, a pathetic tendency to carry other people’s burdens, and a tendency to lose confidence through negative thought patterns.

The Sun Cap-Moon Pisces blend is shared natally by:

Benjamin Franklin (an astrologer, as you know), Paul Cezanne (one of my top 3 favorite Impressionists), Elvis Presley (well, as a kid I liked his music), J. Edgar Hoover (ee-euww!), Sandy Koufax (saw him play on TV watching baseball with my Dad), Ava Gardner (now there was a beauty), Keith Thomas (author of ‘Religion and the Decline of Magic’), and J. R. R. Tolkein (read ‘The Hobbit’ when it was brand new but couldn’t get through all of The Trilogy, it wore me out!  Sorry.)

Let’s hear a peep from Ben – here is one of the more practical bits of advice from Ben Franklin – it’s one of my favorites of his quotes:

‘Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that’s the stuff life is made of.’

And Astrology is what brings the element of Time to the table!

Images for Integration:

‘A wine collector uncorks a rare vintage to celebrate a success…A child builds a sandcastle of reinforced concrete…Bilbo in Tolkein’s ‘Lord of the Rings’…’Bathers in a Landscape’ by Cezanne…Elvis Presley’s ‘Blue Suede Shoes’. (‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign’ by Chas & Suzi Harvey.)

The ‘sandcastle/reinforced concrete’ reminds me of his help in founding America, ya know? Ideal-idea of freedom into manifestation  and all that, with Uranus, planet of revolution and rebellion,  discovered in 1781 – between the American Revolution and the French Revolution.

So it was Uranus’ creative spark (Plato’s Ideal) poured into Saturnian form, circa 1776, and voila! a New Atlantis: America.

Well, thanks for taking a meander with me down a Moonlight Path on the  Moon’s Day. Hope you enjoyed yourself!

Chiffonery Art and a Panacea on a Rainy Day

Don’t know about you but last night’s ‘townhall’ meeting between Barack Obama and John McCain wumped me out with Politics so I’ve turned to Art on this rainy day in Georgia to clear my head.

Now Panacea’s Pink Fringe is finally as pink as it can be:
