It’s a cosmic weekend everyone!
Space Weather News for April 21, 2012
LYRID METEOR SHOWER: The annual Lyrid meteor shower peaks this weekend on the night of April 21-22 when Earth passes through a stream of debris from ancient Comet Thatcher. Usually the shower is mild (10-20 meteors per hour) but unmapped filaments of dust in the comet’s tail sometimes trigger outbursts ten times stronger.
This year’s peak coincides with a new Moon, so lunar interference will not be a problem. The promise of a good display has prompted NASA to plan an unusual 3D meteor photography experiment combining observations from the ground, a research balloon, and the International Space Station.
More information, observing tips, and live audio from a meteor radar are available on today’s edition of http://SpaceWeather.com
As yes, the Dark of the Moon is a great time for sky watching for the New Moon on April 21, 2012 perfects at 3:18 am EDT at 1 Taurus 35…’2Tau’ = “An Electrical Storm” so wherever you are there may be Uranian bolts lighting up the clouds!
You’ll find New Moon info and Political Astrology, too, at Stars Over Washington if you so wish:
The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, Marc Edmund Jones
Well, maybe this tidbit which mainly describes the 2008 presidential campaign cycle isn’t something just uncovered by this week’s revealing Lunar Eclipse in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius but elite group of donors dole out campaign money among various candidates reminds me of how it’s done on a larger scale when for centuries global banking houses have supplied both sides of wars and revolutions which they themselves fomented from within their secret society chambers.
Perhaps one reason for them to pony up for ‘both sides’ is to establish a win-win situation for themselves by retaining influence over whichever candidate wins a nomination or an election.
Bets are hedged, allegiances are pledged, and they are not meant to protect or defend the US Constitution.
You’ll note that I snagged the article link above from the OpenSecrets site for it seemed appropriate as the Lunar Eclipse in the sign of The Seeker nears.
After a few days respite for the Thanksgiving Day holiday, I’m back to the salt mines of freebie blogging and putting out a little Political Astrology info for those who may care for Astrology used as a lens through which to view upclose the squirmy varmints of Politics.
Today is my first day back online so I spent it researching and typing a fresh Stars Over Washington post which concerns all the Solar (4) and Lunar (2) Eclipses of 2011 which you may perhaps find interesting.
You’ll discover that an image of the January 2011 Solar Eclipse @ 13Cap38 is shown; images of other 2011 eclipse horoscopes will be added to SO’W as time permits.
Yet what I didn’t mention in my post is info on the Sun-Moon blend of the January 2011 Solar Eclipse and so I shall add its details here.
Obviously, the sign Capricorn is highlighted with its law-government-business vibes; Sun Cap-Moon Cap is an Earth-Earth blend indicating down-to-earth and matter-of-fact influences. Patience, self-discipline, and realism are in evidence with this double helping of the ancient sign of the Mer Goat.
Sun Cap-Moon Cap fears chaos and I think all but the power elite can be said to ‘resemble that remark’ these days – especially given societal and economic conditions and the fact that 2011 will usher in the mysterious and much-touted year ’2012′.
This practical combo of Capricorn energies gives a steadfast, autocratic, self-absorbed, conscientious, ambitious and purposeful demeanor to the start of 2011. There’s a pathological need for authority and security with a deep desire to make oneself immune from attack (as if!); ruler Saturn brings in the fear; meanwhile, professional recognition is sought for one’s wisdom, accomplishments, and status in society.
(As you know, Saturn and Jupiter are our ‘societal planets’.)
The Jan 2011 Solar Eclipse opposes US natal Sun (‘the leader’) so President Obama is front and center, or possibly is ‘eclipsed’ in some way.
A heavy emphasis is placed on material gains/goals and self-advancement during a Capricorn eclipse season yet given the state of the US and global economy, it’s understandable, even necessary.
Well, perhaps the Cap-Cap tendency toward common sense, practicality, and dependability will improve economic matters for the collective since the power elite already have more money than they can waste and spend – other than buying US elections directly now instead of their old-fashioned indirect methods, thanks to SCOTUS’ Citizen’s United decision of January 2010.
“Image for Integration” of the Sun (conscious mind) and Moon (unconscious) energies for the Jan 4, 2011 Solar Eclipse:
“A hoary old grandfather sits in his chair with this grandson on his knee. He gives him a gift for his seventh birthday – a first-edition of Pilgrim’s Progress.”
(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles and Suzi Harvey.)
Yes, a brief family vacation in Raleigh NC was wonderful and relaxing yet it’s good to be back and blogging on Politics through the lens of Astrology!
And since I tend to spontaneously compose at keyboard, this post is a brief heads-up to the New Moon chart with details now freshly published at Stars Over Washington, if you’re game.
Plain English is used so if you don’t speak astrologese, don’t fret, just click!
Yet one thing I neglected to mention in the post is the Sabian Symbol of the New Moon’s Midheaven (chart is set for Washington DC, edt); Mc is the Aspirations/Goal Point of any horoscope. This may be of interest to you especially if you happen to be in California or have connections there, so I shall add it here for your consideration, quoting from Dane Rudhyar’s ‘An Astrological Mandala’:
Mc ’20Virgo’ = “A Caravan of Cars Headed to the West Coast”…
Keynote: The need of cooperative effort in reaching any “New World” of experience.
…what seems to be clearly implied is a process in which a group of persons are journeying together–thus linking their consciousnesses and energies (the ‘car’ symbol)–in order to safely reach the goal of destiny. Here there is no longer any sense of competition, but an ofered and structured endeavor.
…the past is entirely left behind; men cooperate in the great ‘adventure in consciousness’ in a TOTALIZATION OF PURPOSE AND EFFORT.
Will the New Moon of May 13, 2010 mark a new phase of political activity and cooperation as it effects the establishment of a one-world-government, aka a ‘New World Order’?
Well, if we begin to hear of Democrats and Republicans entering a new phase of cooperation to ‘get things done’, I for one will be feeling that their masks are finally being dropped in public and the them-against-us reality of Politics is being outed because they assume they’re about to successfully implement such totalitarian plans over all opposition from we-the-people.
Or, perhaps May 13 will simply bring us a New Moon in Taurus!
The above-linked post contains basic details on the culminating Full Moon in Sagittarius, May 27, 2010, along with info on a Mutable T-Square between Jupiter/Saturn pointing to apex Venus in Gemini in the May 13 New Moon chart.
In this blog’s sidebar you’ll find a feed to Julie Demboski’s excellent blog with her insightful details on the New Moon of Dec, 2009 @ 24Sag39.
The Sabian Symbol for this new cycle of activity, which Julie terms a Fantasy New Moon (oooh!) is for ’25Sag’…”A Chubby Boy on a Hobby Horse” which Marc Edmund Jones gives as EMULATION.
Positive expression: an indomitable determination to give the lesser potentialities of existence a more effective dimension;
Negative/Unconscious/Shadow Side: idle self-indulgence and ingenuous claims of merit.
Got hobbies? Perhaps you may begin a new cycle of activity where you showcase them! And with December holidays coming up perhaps we’ll be inspired to play and have fun before the Blue Moon Eclipse of Dec 31 ends our year.
News reports say that sales are up for retailers so that’s good for the economy and for your Aunt Granny Fanny who’s pining for a gift from you that doesn’t involve checkered socks! (Surely you can do better than that.)
The New Moon’s Sun Sag/Moon Sag combo of Fire-Fire energies is an interesting blend for its optimism and faith in the future. The essential benevolence of life found in this blend is perfect for the celebration of our Savior’s birth (if you believe that way, as I do.)
Sun Sag/Moon Sag is a blend shared natally by Max Born, Joan Didion, Randy Newman, and Ludwig von Beethoven, composer of ‘Ode to Joy’ who said:
“Give happiness and joy to many other people. There is nothing better or greater than that.”
I’m guessing Beethoven’s music does that even when his personality didn’t.
Happy Holiday New Moon!
Several times I almost published today’s Primary charts for Indiana and North Carolina but held back. And Monday’s New Moon chart (15Tau22…new money cycle!) was on the tip of my keyboard, yet I abstained.
By 7 pm this evening, the Moon will conjunct asteroid Midas of gold-hoarding fame with Mercury, well inspired in communicative Gemini, approaching by one degree. And with the Saturn-Pluto trine still locked within a Grand Trine with Hillary Clinton’s natal Sun in Scorpio, perhaps she will receive a boost today from her well-placed and well-off supporters.
But my money is on Barack Obama, with his Aquarian Jupiter, a science-leaning placement, primarily because I prefer a more populist message what with the Common Good turned so bad a la fascist neocon globalists.
With 187 delegates at stake (so they say), today’s Sun/Moon blend is Sun Taurus-Moon Gemini with these Images for Integration:
“A scientist brilliantly discourses on the mysteries of nature…A wealthy publisher launches another new project.” (‘Sun SIgn-Moon Sign’ by Chas & Suzi Harvey.)
A publisher (Pluto), a scientist (Saturn), and…Hillary’s Sun in a gifting trine pattern…a politician. And I keep thinking that SOMEone knows the answer to the Dem nom riddle and that all this….this…”voting”…is a sham and a waste of the People’s time, effort, money, and sense of hope–all for a foregone conclusion based on super delegates and financiers pulling strings behind the scenes.
America! We’ll missing her already and she’s hardly gone. You could say that America has left the building–which was foreclosed on bwo foregone conclusions of the secret government kind.
At Patty’s *request here are the results on Al Gore’s Natal and Progressed lunations to determine if he has that “electable” quality and to nose into whether he is in a phase of life that would aid a presidential term for Albert:
Natal lunar phase (distance between Sun and Moon): Disseminating 262:18;
Secondary Progressed for April 2008: Disseminating 268:24.
So Gore falls into the second hemicycle, the ANTITHETICAL phase (180 degr+) both natally and currently which places him character-wise as self-willed and busy as a bee fulfilling his personal desires.
This is supported by teaching and lecturing which he has asserted he prefers over running for office or serving as president. Board-sitting must take up a gracious amount of time as well but worth it when you’re hangin’ out with the win-win crowd.
Besides, Disseminating types ARE teachers and communicators–which suited him well enough as a young writer and reporter.
You’ve noticed that Gore has recently had his Secondary Phasal Return when Secondary Moon and Sun repeat their angle at birth (262 degr 18 mins.)
My own Phasal Return is coming up in a few months, and I hardly know what to expect–I can guess, but it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing so here goes nuthin,’ muffin.
Trilateral Commission, mining, ecology promos, accepting awards…all the things that that bundle of cells needs in order to gel into the man (who may just turn his raptor’s gaze toward a new direction at any moment)…they call him, Al Gore; and when the cards hit the table and the last puppy is curled up in the box, Al Gore would rather be realizing personal goals, whatever they may be.
And with his natal Saturn/Pluto conjunction in the 1st house of Self, I’d stay out of his way, down to the last distressed whale in trouble. For when the sirens broadcast globally, you may look up but it will be too late. War from Space…brought to you by your local tentacle of the centralized mammoth head of the dragon that roars at the rudder of our ill-fated Arsenal of Democracy.
You know it’s easy for anyone to promise overmuch right now with the ongoing Mars/Jupiter opposition overhead and underbelly, but we all must try. Well, the federal government seems to have given in and up on prudence and moderation, doesn’t it?
So to mask the stench of sulphur rising from the above politics and assaulting our innocent nostrils, I penned a rhyme earlier today and it has helped me forget the bitter taste of my defeat on the www…i surrender gracefully if rhymefully and with *all apologies for this poem is very self-indulgent of me esp with desiring Mars opposite expansive Jupiter:
~:~Sunday’s www in a frustration nation~:~
The internet is acting coy
forget the worldwide web
i’d read of George and Condi too
while fearing John and Jeb
if only pages loaded soon
before warm sun did set
while candidates for prez intone
upon yon TV set
There’s Meet the Press and Stephanop
Chris Matthews and Bob Schieffer
then popery in New York C
incants on mama’s wafer
it’s all tres moderne so severe
as history reveals
elections rigged and money piled
who lies and cheats and steals?
A racketeering world of woe
the common man a dupe
while rich men dine high on the hog
the rest of us slurp soup
yet still the page will not aload
as time goes ticking by
no blogs from Turtle Lane can post
from someone such as i.
(would’ve publ’d hours ago but no go…but that’s okay because they can have all the hog as far as i’m concerned–actually there’s been no pork consumed here btw since 1978, so thanks but no thanks to shanks. jc)
