Wedding Day Astrology: John and Elizabeth Edwards

with 3 comments

Update August 9, 2008: this week has seen John Edwards finally admitting that he did have the rumored affair with a videographer during his presidential campaign, but did not father her child.

If you’re looking for evidence of this lapse on a husband’s part within the Sun-Moon info below, I’m not sure you’ll find much except for the tendencies toward restlessness and arrogance! Let me know if you see more than that, okay?

~Original post begins here:

Meeting as law students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, John Edwards and Elizabeth Anania were wed in a small country church near Chapel Hill, NC, on July 30, 1977, hour unknown.

Since the Moon was in Aquarius throughout the day and evening, we may be confident of the Sun Leo-Moon AQ blend for their Wedding Day and thus it describes something of their relationship and marriage.

The following details are based on this Full Moon combination of Fire and Air, a steamy mix. Midpoint pictures given were in effect for the entire 24 hours as well, and so may apply in that ‘all, any, or none’ way that midpoint pictures may and have surely been triggered by transits and progressions many times since 1977.

Sun Leo-Moon AQ is a warm and sympathetic blend with great powers of observation, and expresses deep commitment to personal ideals taken into humanitarian service.

It’s a romantic blend which gives courage and an independent spirit of leadership, along with broadmindedness, theatricality, and spiritual strength. That the Edwards marriage survived the loss of their son, Wade (April 4, 1996) in a horrific car accident, is a testimony to this strength.

This Fire-Air blend is the ‘live wire’ combo–full of ideas which are easily communicated with impressive zeal and persuasion. Charisma galore and joie de vivre abound with Fire-Air. Boredom is shunned and so they live at a very fast pace. This is the Utopian idealist who sees ever-widening horizons–quite helpful if you see yourself inhabiting the White House!

Yet if a ‘high horse’ shows up in the stable, a moralistic bent which knows what’s good for everyone becomes apparent (but could we do any worse than the horse Bush rode in on? Neigh.)

In relationships, Fire-Air needs intellectual rapport yet need to watch being too detached from their feelings. Plenty of conversation and freedom to pursue their own interests have been very important to them as a couple, and they seem to land at opportunity’s doorstep with little effort.

Yes, some bit of arrogance may peek around the corner from time to time, yet the Edwardses are so well-meaning that this tendency may be easily dismissed by those around them.

True loyalty in love inspires compassion and largesse with the Leo-AQ blend in which one wants for the loved one precisely what he or she requires to thrive. This combo can influence the world with its imaginative flair, sense of justice, and faithfulness, and in a personally satisfying and uplifting way.

Weaknesses: impractical dreaming; fixed views and arrogance; restlessness and rebelliousness which can cause a squandering of resources.

This Sun (male principle) and Moon (feminine principle) combo may be synthesized into these Images for Integration:

“The chairman of the board raises his glass to his able colleagues…The king of a large, prosperous empire invites everyone to his wedding.” (‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign,’ Chas & Suzi Harvey.)

‘Invites everyone to his wedding’? Oops, I may have just kind of done that!

Midpoint pictures for July 30, 1977 (included is the Sun/Moon due to its possible significance–chart used is the Sunrise/Solar chart 6:26:33 am edt):

Sun/Moon = Uranus (7Sco+): intensification of independence within relationship; sudden developments in relationship or marriage; shared upsets.

Venus/Uranus = Mercury (2Vir43): ability to give stimulating ideas to others; sudden emergence of love thoughts; ready ideas to solve problems innovatively; sex.

Venus/Pluto = Saturn (18Leo38): the dear of losing love; a tragedy.

Jupiter/Uranus = Mercury: planning on success; a series of fortunate breaks; ready-wittedness; a fortunate turn in career.

Jupiter/Pluto = Saturn: adjusting the big picture to meet more with convention; strategy becomes necessary; difficulties; separation.

Well, there it is, some of the planetary influences of John and Elizabeth Edwards’ Wedding Day and marriage, and you may see from the midpoint pics that some influences are mixed for this couple.

But after all, in everyone’s lives the good and the bad exist in a blend meant to test and hopefully strengthen us as we mature and learn, and so I send wishes to John and Elizabeth for many more years of wedded bliss!

  1. Jude — I’m trying to find the page for the John and Cindy McCain wedding so I can link to it from my site. I don’t understand how pages work. Can you post a link in response to this comment? Thanks, Monica

  3. Hey, Jude. What’s going on in this chart that would show Edwards’ “love child”? Also, what date did you write this? I can’t tell. Your astropal, Monica
