Winter Solstice 2011 brings Sun Capricorn/Moon Scorpio

Having just published my column on Winter Solstice 2011, I thought you might wish to join me in a consideration of its Sun Capricorn/Moon Scorpio blend of energies.

View the horoscope and read a few details here; be advised that the Winter Solstice 2011 chart is set for the White House so my text relates most directly to DC politics and American issues.

With Capricorn ruled by restrictive, conservative Saturn, and the Moon’s sign Scorpio ruled by Mars and Pluto, it’s not the easiest Solstice chart I’ve ever written about but it’s the one we’ve got to usher us into the watershed year of 2012.

(My sincere hope–prayer–is that the ongoing Fukushima Meltdown will not be what makes 2012 so…special and volatile. Sadly, you should know that the current news from Japan is not good at all.)

Sun Cap/Moon Sco is an Earth-Water combo–in a word, mud. As such it is a practical and supportive blend so let’s cheer for that, shall we?

This blend gives Winter Season 2011/2012 an aura of resilience and ambition with undertones of Mars-Pluto-Saturn, not a pleasant trio of planetary energies especially when times are already tough. Washington DC’s favorite Saturnian word of 2011–austerity–comes easily to mind, and if you view the above-linked horoscope, you’ll find it awash with financial issues along with some military implications.

Now Sun Cap/Moon Sco indicates dedication, strength of character, and loyalty so we’ll see where these traits manifest as winter goes forth. This blend is also known for its common sense, something which would be very welcome in US politics about now, agreed?

And since this blend favors traditional values, perhaps we-the-people’s desire to retain America as America will continue to be included in our public dialogue, thanks in large part to the ongoing efforts of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Compassion and moral integrity are also welcomed facets of the Sun Cap/Moon Sco combo.

Weaknesses of the Sun Cap/Moon Sco combination include an over-emphasis on austerity measures, a too-serious attitude, and a tendency to remain blind to one’s own prejudices (a prevalent trait found in DC politics.) Actually, most people are blind to their own prejudices for if they were not, they might have to let go of them!

Well, Sun Cap/Moon Sco is a very determined and tenacious combination of energies and perhaps its “Images for Integration” may apply. See what you think–the first image reminds me of Pvt. Bradley Manning’s detention for his possible WikiLeaks involvement–and his hearing is set for December 16, 2011, a date you’ll find mentioned in the Winter Solstice 2011 post for its ‘government shutdown’ potential:

“A prisoner in solitary confinement undergoes a conversion and becomes an indefatigable worker for the transformation and betterment of mankind…A priest turns his home into a shelter for the sick and homeless.”

(Sun Sign-Moon Sign, Charles & Suzi Harvey.)

Yes. The sick. The homeless. All over America, thanks to culpable politicians who serve as Big Banking handmaidens and paid-for shills–legislating against we-the-people who make up the 99%.

Bush faults Congress for US fuel and food woes

Two things–one is Bush’s second press conference of the year from a White House garden this morning in which he performed his usual “it’s Congress, not me” routine in a very–may I say it–testy way as fighting Mars (now in bounds of the earthly plane and giving back under provocation) was rising 24Can36.

Stung by criticism, Leo the Lion did roar from the White House this morning but with a pesky Lame Duck quacking from behind the podium.

You may wish to read my Stars Over Washington entry published as he spoke:

Today’s Sun Taurus/Moon Aquarius blend is worth considering for its tencious and proud qualities, and for two quotes from men who share this blend natally:

“When you’re down and out, something always turns up–and it’s usually the noses of your friends.” –Orson Wells

“May the Force be with you,”  –George Lucas, of ‘Stars Wars’ fame

Well, it’s true that the Force of secret government and the syndicate are with Bush, otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to infest the Oval Office lo these many years (so for their purposes, he must be doing something right), and it’s apparent that America’s friends are getting fewer by the minute since Dubya took over.

Bush said that “it’s the isms that bother me–isolationism and protectism” yet he gave ‘corporatism,’ ‘fascism’ and ‘totalitarianism’ free passes on his botheration list.  He always does, of course, even with his natal Ascendant at the “A Bolshevik Propagandist” degree (8Leo)–and with the definition of fascism being a blending of state + corporate power.

Goes to prove the old adage that what someone says they are is probably exactly what they aren’t, esp in Politics. Trustworthy men don’t have to resort to “trust me” assurances.

Besides, we wouldn’t want America to gain protection for the few jobs we have left, now would we? Not after so much has been done by our “representatives” to undermine our economy and to tear our social fabric into shreds.

Yes, the Amercian people can rightfully blame Congress and corporations for it all–in part. But the buck stops, Mr. Bush–it stops with your name on it. You ignored America’s growing problems for so long, methinks you revel in them now, you NWO promoter, you!

There’s only one Image for Integration for today’s Sun/Moon blend…see what you think:

“A country squire holds the summer fete in his garden; all monies raised are divided equally between three charities in the village–the Friendly Farmer’s Trust, the Local Artists’ Guild, and the Quakers’ Orphanage.” (‘Sun Sign-Moon Sign,’ Chas & Suzi Harvey.)

! ! !

The second thing is that today is the next-to-the-last day of National Poetry Month, and I have absolutely no plans to do anything appropriate about it, do you?

Well, if you’re planless like me, you could spontaneously mosey over to Lim’s Limericks and read a few groanworthy political rhymes if you wish: http://limslimericks.blogspot.com

No, I haven’t allowed the Political Poetry muse to land much of late, but you may also view kittycat photos there, so what are you waiting for? For George Bush to get a clue?
